Who are the announcer for Marshall at Virginia Tech?
By Scott Roche
Last week, the Virginia Tech football team got a noon kickoff of ESPN in their season-opener against Vanderbilt, and this week, they get a late afternoon start at home against Marshall. This time, instead of being broadcast on the ESPN platform, the Hokies will play their first game on The CW Network.
A new network brings a new group of announcers and that will be the case against the Thundering Hurd at Lane Stadium this weekend.
Who are the announcers for Marshall at Virginia Tech football this Saturday?
Thom Brennaman will handle the play-by-play duties for The CW Network with Max Browne the analyst and Treaver Scales the sideline reporter. The game will also be broadcast on the Virginia Tech Sports Network if you can’t get to a TV with Bill Roth handling the play-by-play and Mike Burnop the analyst with Zach Mackey on the sideline.
If you have DIRECTV, by now you know that turned off ABC and ESPN at the start of the LSU/USC game last Sunday night leaving subscribers without a way to watch games on DIRECTV. Finding the CW Network is never easy, but if you need a way, there is always FuboTV.
This will be a special weekend in Blacksburg as not only is it the Hokies home opener, but the 1999 team that played for the 2000 National Championship will have a reunion. There will be a lot of former fan favorite Hokies in the house which is the first of four sellouts this season at Lane Stadium.
Not only will the Hokies be looking to get into the win column for the first time in 2024, but they will honor the 1999 team 25 years later against the Thundering Hurd. This has a chance to be a memorable weekend in Blacksburg for Virginia Tech fans.
