Virginia Tech hopes rest can reset their shooters

Georgia Amoore and Kitley are the two best players on the team, nobody is going to doubt that, however, whatever Kitley’s status ends up being, Virginia Tech’s NCAA Tournament run will likely depend on what they get from their shooters. Talk about being a hit-or-miss group, Cayla King, and Matilda Ekh have struggled lately, which is one of the reasons why they have dropped three of their last four games. Yes, shooters go through stretches, but this stretch has certainly hurt the Hokies.

Ekh went scoreless at the ACC Tournament and that simply can not happen if the Hokies are going to get out of the first weekend. King tallied 14 points in two games and they will need her to find her shot this week in practice along with Ekh. Carys Baker off the bench hit a couple of shots in Greensboro and they will need her to knock some down next weekend. If Kitley plays, that should open things up for the shooters, and if she doesn’t, expect Brooks and his staff to figure out how to get them shots and good looks. Getting in the gym this week and just seeing the ball go through the basket can be big as well.
