There are a number of players who could benefit from the retainment that Virginia Tech football has had going into 2024.

Bhayshul Tuten

As mentioned in the last section, Tuten, a North Carolina A&T transfer ahead of the 2023 season, is back and he is another key returning player who will benefit from the retainment. He doubles as the Hokies' best kick returner as he brought two back last year for touchdowns against Florida State and Virginia.

He rushed for 863 yards in 2023 and that was behind an offensive line that was shaky throughout the season. Georgia State transfer Montavious Cunningham will help this season with the returning players and if the trenches can open holes for Tuten, there is no reason why he can't be a 1,000-yard rusher. Throwing the ball all over the field to a deep wide receiving core should help open the running game for Tuten.

Truth be told, there are going to be many players who will benefit from all the retainment the Hokies have had on both sides of the ball and it all has a golden opportunity to add up to a special season in Blacksburg.
