3 Virginia Tech players who need to shine for a deep tournament run

Off the bench, Young has some options that can come in and make a difference and certainly one of those players is North Carolina transfer Tyler Nickel. His impact is felt a lot on the offensive end and his ability to shoot the 3-ball and get off his shot quickly. Against Notre Dame when the Irish ran him off the 3-point line, he was able to get to the basket and either finish or get to the free-throw line.

The Harrisonburg native is a good rebounding guard and when engaged defensively, he can be a difference-maker on that end of the floor. There have been games where Cattoor has struggled shooting the ball and Nickel can be the guy who can pick up his teammate and come off the bench and make an impact. If Virginia Tech is going to make a run, they will need him to step up, something he has shown this season he’s been able to do.
