Virginia Tech men's basketball projected 2024-25 starting lineup
By Scott Roche
Poteat was one of the Hokies who entered the transfer portal back in March, but after three days, he decided to withdraw his name and return to Virginia Tech for his final season of availability. Last season he came off the bench behind Kidd and played very well at times and there will be a lot more put on his shoulders this upcoming season.
Last season in 34 games, he averaged 6.4 points and 3.5 rebounds a night and Young will need those numbers to increase in 2024-25. The 6-foot-9 Reidsville, N.C. native finished in double figure six times with an 18-point effort against Georgia Tech being his largest output. He had 15 in a loss at North Carolina and 14 in a loss at Notre Dame. The Hokies will need him to average double-digits this season if they are going to be a contender in the ACC.
There is no doubt that this is going to be a different-looking Virginia Tech team this upcoming season, but on paper, it's one that could be a fun one to watch on a nightly basis.
