One addition the Hokies got from the transfer portal who is somewhat of a question mark, is Duke transfer Jaden Schutt. He missed last season recovering from a knee injury, but if Young can get him to slowly return to the shooter and player he was that had Mike Krzyzewski recruiting him hard and land him.
NEWS: Duke transfer guard Jaden Schutt has committed to Virginia Tech, he tells @On3sports.

The 6-foot-5 former Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year was one of the better shooters in his class, but after losing Hunter Cattoor to graduation and Pedulla to the transfer portal, there is very much a need in the backcourt for some shooting to fill those voids. There are going to be other shooters on the roster, but Schutt has an opportunity to be a very big under-the-radar addition for Young and he does have three years of eligibility remaining.
