The biggest loss for Virginia Tech was Pedulla. He did everything last season for the Hokies and had a lot more pressure on his shoulders after Rodney Rice decided before the season started to leave the program. That left the Oklahoma native Pedulla as the only ball handler for Young. It was a less-than-ideal time for Rice to leave. Young got a commitment from Temple guard Hysier Miller to handle the ball in 2024-25.

Miller is a dynamic guard who should have no problem stepping in and replacing Pedull. Last season for the Owls, he averaged over 36 minutes a night, 15.9 points, four assists, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.8 steals. He is a facilitator who can get into the lane set up teammates and finish around the basket. Replacing Pedulla's production will be tough with Miller only shooting 35% from the field last season compared to Pedulla's 42.4%. The ball will be in his hands a lot and a lot will be asked of him and the question is, can he handle the ACC grind? The feeling here is that he is.
