Virginia Tech men's basketball loses out on four-star guard to ACC rival

Recently, four-star combo guard Zac Foster narrowed his choices down to Clemson and Virginia Tech, and Thursday afternoon, he announced his commitment and picked the Tigers over the Hokies.
This is a tough recruiting loss for Virginia Tech men's basketball coach Mike Young and his staff as Foster, who is the 69th overall player in the Class of 2025 according to 247Sports, is going to be in the ACC with Clemson. He is the No. 8 player in Georgia and 12 combo guard nationally.
According to Adam Finklestein of 247Sports, broke down Foster's game and it feels like he would have been a good fit in Blacksburg with the Hokies.
"He’s smooth and skilled with the ball in his hands. He has a handle and some craft inside the lane. While he can be a bit turnover prone (3.3 per game in 3SSB play), he is developing into a legit combo who can play both on and off the ball because of his ability to see the floor and make reads. He has a quick and clean shooting stroke with soft natural touch (34% 3pt & 79% FT in 3SSB play) and projects as a shot-maker at the next level if he can eliminate occasional stretches where his ball goes flat,'' he wrote.
The Woodward Academy product is 6-foot-3 and 165 pounds visited Virginia Tech on Aug. 30 and Clemson on Sept. 7 ahead of his decision, It's back to the recruiting trail for Young and his staff. Currently, they have three-star forward Sincere Jones from Portsmouth, Virginia committed in the Class of 2025, and four-star center Christian Gurdak from Gonzaga Prep in Washington, D.C.
Gurdak is the prize recruit of the class to date with his ability to score in the post and defend around the basket on the defensive end. Guards are a need that the class going forward for Virginia Tech.
