In this edition of Virginia Tech Hokies News, the women's soccer team will kick off the 2024 season Thursday night, the ACC Men's Soccer Preseason rankings came out and the wrestling team announces their 2024-25 schedule.

Women's soccer to begin season Thursday night

It's hard to believe, but here we are, the Virginia Tech women's soccer team will kick off the fall season Thursday night at home at Thompson Field in a non-conference clash with Campbell at 6 p.m. The Hokies are looking to have a bounce-back season following a tough 2023 campaign.

ACC releases Men's Soccer Preseason Poll and Preseason All-ACC team

The ACC released the 2024 Men's Soccer Preseason Poll and Preseason All-ACC team. Clemson came in at No. 1 with 12 first-place votes, while North Carolina at No. 3 got two first-place votes and Wake Forest at No. 4 got one first-place vote. Here is the breakdown of the poll,

9. Pittsburgh

The Preseason All-ACC team was also announced and Willie Cardona made the team for the Hokies.

Wrestling releases 2024-25 schedule

We are still months away from the 2024-25 wrestling season beginning, but Virginia Tech released its schedule. The Hokies will have non-conference games against Chattanooga, Rutgers, Oklahoma State, Missouri, and Appalachian State, while they will participate in the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational again from Dec. 6-7, the Southeast Open, 2024 Keystone Classic, and Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga in early January.

Virginia Tech will have ACC matches at North Carolina, Duke and Stanford, while hosting Virginia, North Carolina State and Pittsburgh. It will be interesting travel for the Hokies who will a pair of trips out West to Las Vegas and PAlo Alton, Ca. to face the Cardinal.
