Games 9-12

Game 9: at Syracuse
Game 10: vs. Clemson
Game 11: at Duke
Game 12: vs. Virginia

The back end of the schedule is a big one. Syracuse in New York is not going to be easy with the addition of Ohio State transfer Kyle McCord along with first-year head coach Fran Brown bringing in a good recruiting class and transfers. Still, if healthy, the Hokies should be favorites in this game at the Dome. Then the following week brings Clemson to Lane Stadium in what could be a very big game for both teams. The Tigers have not made additions through the transfer portal, but there is no shortage of talent for coach Dabo Swinney.

After their second bye, the Hokies head to Durham to play Duke, who is also beginning the season with a first-year coach in Manny Diaz. It will be a homecoming game for Duke transfer Aeneas Peebles after he transferred to Virginia Tech. The final game on the schedule is the annual rivalry game with Virginia and there is no way I can see the Cavaliers coming to Lane Stadium and beating the Hokies after the 55-17 victory against Virginia last season to become bowl-eligible and returning nearly the same roster.

Outside of Miami and Clemson, this is a very doable schedule for Virginia Tech and 10 wins is certainly within reach.

Record: 10-2
