Nov. 11: Virginia Tech 48, Boston College 22

One week after losing 34-3 at Louisville, the Hokies headed to Boston looking to get their first road win of the season. They used a pair of Dorian Strong first-quarter interceptions of BC quarterback Thomas Castellanos, turned them into 10 points, and then an unsuspecting onside kick by the Hokies at the end of the opening quarter turned the game completely around.

Drones threw a touchdown pass to Stephen Gosnell early in the second quarter and Virginia Tech was off and running scoring 35 unanswered points on their way to the win. This was a big response game for Pry and his team after the Louisville disaster the week before they had a lot going for them, including a half-empty stadium, something that is an all-to-common occurrence at Chestnut Hill. Season-defining victory away from Lane Stadium for the Hokies.
