Virginia Tech football: 10 Hokies who defined Bud Foster’s Lunch Pail players

The lunch pail represents the blue-collar mentality that Bud Foster instilled in the Hokies' defense from 1995-2015. These players defined that mentality and excelled in Blacksburg.

. LB. 2004-07. Vince Hall. 2. player. 447. Lunch pail. . Vince Hall

Vince Hall is second in Virginia Tech history in tackles with 404, along with his 9.5 career sacks and 30 tackles for loss. Hall put together three straight seasons with over 100 tackles from 2005-2007 but was relatively unheralded during his time in Blacksburg.

As a four-year starter for Bud Foster's defense, Hall was a mainstay, but also a rarity. It's not easy to start in the heart of a Foster defense as a redshirt freshman, but Hall was a leader from the start of his time at Virginia Tech and exemplified the lunch pail mentality.
