George DelRicco was in Blacksburg for the very start of the lunch pail in 1995, his senior season. That year, DelRicco led the defense and tackles and led the team to a win in the Sugar Bowl.

DelRicco was not a highly regarded recruit when he chose Tech over East Carolina and Boston College, but he made a name for himself by leading the Hokies in tackles from his mike linebacker position in 1994 and 1995 after posting 11 tackles for loss in 1993. He is third all-time in Virginia Tech history with his 401 career tackles.
