When Brent Pry brought back the lunch pail in 2022, Darryl Tapp narrated the video and he was a fitting choice.

Tapp set records in the weight room at Virginia Tech and that hard work in the offseason translated to playing time. That playing time translated to success and Tapp was twice named All-ACC.

A football lifer, Tapp is currently an assistant defensive line coach for the San Francisco 49ers. He played in the NFL from 2006-17 with six different teams.
