Recruiting in the Class of 2025 is off to a good start for Virginia Tech and head coach Mike Young. So far, the Hokies have addressed front-court needs with commitments from Christian Gurdak and Sin'Cere Jones.

Jones was the first to commit on June 16 and the Portsmouth, Virginia native is a 6-foot-7, 200-pound forward who is a three-star athletic player who can finish around the basket. Still, the biggest addition to the class for Young came on July 2 when Gurdak, a four-star Top 100 player according to 247Sports from Gonzaga High School in Washington, D.C., committed to Virginia Tech, and his skills were recently displayed.

Virginia Tech commit Christian Gurdak shows he has a number of different moves

It is vital to have a big man in college basketball in this day and age who can score in multiple ways and Gurdak is someone who can do that. His moves around the basket are below and you can see he's able to hurt defenses in multiple ways.

Gurdak has a nice fadeaway jumper where he's able to create space, he is able to make some moves and finish over smaller players while knocking down an elbow jumper off a pick-and-roll. He is also a tough body to keep off the offensive glass. He has a nice touch around the basket for sure.

When Gurdak made his decision to attend Virginia Tech over Notre Dame, he said the Hokies had been recruiting him since he was 14 years old. What makes him stand out from other players in his class is his ability to pass out of a double team, see the floor, and keep the ball moving on the offensive end if his shot is not available. The finishing touches above are those of a player who has worked very hard on his game and knows where to be on the floor at both ends to make an impact. Virginia Tech fans should be excited for the future of Gurdak in Blacksburg beginning next season.
