In 1960, the legendary tale of Caroll Dale’s NFL career began. The Los Angeles Rams drafted Dale as the No. 86 overall pick in the 1960 draft.

Five seasons in a row, Dale added a ring to his trophy case. A three-time NFL champion and a two-time Super Bowl champion, Dale is one of the winningest wide receivers of all time.

Dale had 438 career receptions for 8,277 receiving yards and 52 touchdowns. He also tried his hand (or legs) at rushing attempts with 4 carries but only earned 30 total yards on the ground.

Now in the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, Dale was a three-time Pro Bowl selection.

While playing for the Packers, he set three of the franchise’s records:

  • Most Yards per Reception (career): 19.72
  • Most Yards per Reception (game): 46.5 (1970-09-27 ATL)
  • Most Yards per Reception (playoff career): 18.41
