Michael Vick was a hero for the Hokies. Vick ran the fastest-ever 40-yard-dash time at his Pro Day. Vick was the first-ever African American No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft after the Atlanta Falcons selected him first overall in the 2001 draft.

Vick should have had the greatest-ever professional career by a former Hokie.

Sadly, Vick made decisions off the field that cut his career on the field short. In 2007, Vick was suspended from the league and didn’t return to an NFL field for two seasons.

Despite his two-year suspension, Vick amassed 28,573 all-purpose yards and 169 total touchdowns throughout his career.

As a dual-threat quarterback, Vick dominated the NFL scene and had a highly impressive career despite his not-so-impressive personal decisions.
