Former Virginia Tech star Mike Johnson was selected in the 1984 NFL Supplemental Draft and spent the beginning of his professional career in the USFL for the Stars.

Two seasons into his professional career, Johnson finally made his way into the NFL. In 1986, the Cleveland Browns signed Johnson to their roster and finally moved him to the middle linebacker position in 1993.

Johnson excelled at the ILB position and had previously been selected to play in the Pro Bowl to cap off the 1989 and 1990 seasons.

In 1989, Johnson earned All-Pro honors following an impressive year with the Browns.
