3 takeaways from Virginia Tech beating Miami behind an insane second-half from Georgia Amoore

Georgia Amoore had a strong second half
Without Kitley, you knew that Amoore was going to need to step up offensively like she did against Virginia when she went for a career-high 39 points Sunday night. Miami knew that too and they doubled her a lot and looked to get the ball out of her hands. It worked in the first half as she had just four points at the break, two free throws, and a layup off a turnover. She picked up her second foul in the second quarter and spent time on the bench. She came back in the second half and carried the Hokies to a victory.
After shooting 1-for-5 in the opening 20 minutes, she was 7-for-14 from the field in the second half, 10-of-12 from the free throw line to score 23 of her 27 points in the third and fourth quarters to advance to the semifinals. She knocked down a pair of tough jumpers and then was able to get to the basket off the dribble against her defender and finish at the rim. Things are not going to get easier against the Irish and freshman Hannah Hidalgo on Saturday.
