As we inch closer to Week 2 of the college football season, the NFL will kick off its season Thursday night when the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, with former Hokie Chamarri Conner in the secondary, begin the season hosting the Baltimore Ravens at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. You won’t have to wait long for more Hokies in action as on Friday night, the Green Bay Packers with Lecitus Smith along the offensive line, playing the Philadelphia Eagles in Mexico City.

There are several former Virginia Tech players in the NFL that will be starting their season and here is a current running list of Hokies starting with tonight’s game.

There are several former Virginia Tech players in the NFL for you to keep tabs on Sundays this fall. Several are contenders with a shot to not only make the playoffs but make a run like Conner and the Chiefs did again last season. It begins tonight with Conner and KC, while some surprises won training camp battles like Slye did with New England, ousting young kicker Chad Ryland. Slye will get his first shot with his new team on Sunday when the Patriots open the season at the Cincinnati Bengals.
