After a stunning season-opening loss at Vanderbilt in overtime last Saturday, the Virginia Tech football team will look to turn things around in front of their home crowd this Saturday at Lane Stadium in their home-opener. The Hokies will also be looking for some revenge hosting Marshall after the Thundering Hurd edged them last season in West Virginia, 24-17.

This should be a bounce-back game for Brent Pry and his team, but if there is one thing we learned in Weeks 0 and 1, college football is unpredictable. Just ask Florida State who opened the season two weeks ago in Ireland and lost 24-21 to Georgia Tech then Monday night at home to Boston College. Anything is possible.

This will be the 14th overall meeting between Virginia Tech and Marshall with the Hokies holding a 10-3 edge. The Thundering Hurd on last season's matchup at home, 24-17, and it was their first win in the series since 1940. Oddly enough, Marshall's three wins in the series have all come at home.
