The Virginia Tech football team will take their first trip out West for their second ACC game. Eight days after being robbed of an upset of Top 10 Miami Friday night at Hard Rock Stadium, the Hokies will travel cross-country to California to face first-year ACC member Stanford.

Virginia Tech comes into the game at 2-3 after their loss to the Hurricanes, while the Cardinal are 2-2 after splitting their first two conference games, at Syracuse and Clemson, as well as their first two non-conference games as well. This will be Stanford's first ACC home game and after what we saw with SMU rolling over Florida State in their first ACC home game Saturday night, Brent Pry and his team need to be ready to go.

When the schedule was announced, there were a lot of ways the ACC could have gone in terms of game time for this tilt. Hokies' fans were looking at the possibility of a late-night kick, say 10 or 10:30 p.m. Instead, last Monday they got the news that it would be a 3:30 kick back home, while 12:30 local time in California. Miami visiting Cal, which will also host ESPN College GameDay, will kick off at 10:30 p.m.

This game will be broadcast on the ACC Network and also streamed on the ESPN app and FuboTV. This is the second game on the ACC Network for the Hokies this season as their home game two weeks ago against Rutgers, a 26-23 loss, was on the conference's network.

This game will be interesting to see how the Hokies respond to their loss at Miami, but also, who will be available and who won't be after some injuries suffered. Stanford will play with some questions surrounding the health of some of their own players.
