The Blue Devils play their four non-conference games before their ACC games and they have a tricky ACC slate early on. They have North Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Florida State in their first three games and the one in the middle against the Yellow Jackets on the road will be just as tough as the Tar Heels and Seminoles.

The Seminoles will enter the season with a chip on their shoulder following last season's CFP snub and they have a three-game stretch in the middle of the season when they host Clemson before back-to-back road games at Duke and Miami, with the matchup against the Blue Devils being on a Friday night It could be easy seeing FSU overlooking Duke to the Hurricanes.

The Yellow Jackets have a difficult schedule and really can't be tripped by anyone who they should beat if they are going to be bow-eligible, but one game at home against Duke in early October. It falls between roads games at Louisville and North Carolina.

On Oct. 5, they host a talented SMU team, then two weeks later host Miami, but in between is a trip to Virginia. The Cavaliers are in a crucial year under Tony Elliott and expect them to lineup and battle each week.
