The 2024 college football season is just about here with Week 0 beginning in nine days with four games. Three ACC teams, Florida State, Georgia Tech, and SMU will all be in action on Aug. 24 with the Seminoles and Yellow Jackets playing in Ireland, while the Mustangs will get a tough non-conference matchup at Nevada.

This season will be an interesting one in terms of the ACC schedule with Stanford, California, and SMU all joining the conference this season expanding it to 17 teams. With that said, each team is going to face its fair share of obstacles in 2024 with trap games, and here is one big trap game on each team's schedule.

Each ACC team's trap game for 2024

The schedule makers didn't do the Eagles any favors by opening the season at Florida State Labor Day night, but there is one game where they need to be careful and avoid a letdown. After back-to-back games against Missouri and Michigan State, BC faces an under-the-radar Western Kentucky team at home before traveling to play at Virginia a week later. Last season they went 8-5 with a bowl win over Old Dominion.

2. California

This is the first year of Cal in the ACC and they have a tough early-season schedule with two trips to the Southeast area in the first month. They travel to Auburn (Sept. 7) and Florida State (Sept. 21), but a game in-between at home against San Diego State is a huge trap game for the Bears. A win there would go a long way into helping them become bowl-eligible at the end of the season.
