Edmunds brothers in the NFL: Update on the former Virginia Tech football trio
As the sons of Pro Bowl tight end Ferrell Edmunds, these Hokie brothers know what it takes to play in the NFL. Trey Edmunds joined the NFL in 2017 as an undrafted free agent. In 2018, brothers Tremaine and Terrell were drafted into the NFL as first-round picks.

Tremaine Edmunds - Linebacker
The Buffalo Bills drafted Tremaine as the 16th pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He went on to play 5 seasons with the Bills before joining the Chicago Bears in the 2023 season. He has been the most successful of the brothers in the NFL. Throughout his NFL career, he has accumulated 678 tackles with 428 being solo tackles. He has also recorded 6.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 9 interceptions.
Terrell Edmunds - Safety
Terrell began his career in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers, being drafted in the first round of the 2018 draft, like his brother Tremaine. He was the 28th pick overall and continued a career with the Steelers from 2018-2022. He has since bounced around from teams including the Philadelphia Eagles, the Tennessee Titans, and currently the Jacksonville Jaguars. His NFL career stats include 458 total tackles (310 solo), 7.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 6 interceptions.
Trey Edmunds - Running Back
Trey began his NFL career a little differently. He signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He went on to play with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2018-2020. He played alongside brother Terrell until he was released in 2021. He announced his retirement from the NFL in 2022.
