3 biggest additions in the transfer portal for Virginia Tech football for 2024
By Scott Roche
Aeneas Peebles, DL
In early December, Virginia Tech got commitments from Powell-Ryland and Josh Fuga to return along the defensive line. Pry and defensive coordinator Chris Marve solidified the line in the transfer portal with three good players. They added Aeneas Peebles from Duke, Kemari Copeland from Western Iowa Community College, and Kelvin Gilliam from Oklahoma. All three will play and play a lot, however, Peebles is the one that could make the biggest impact.
He could benefit from playing alongside Powell-Ryland who will get a lot of attention from everyone on the Hokies schedule next season and rightfully so. At Duke, Peebles had 46 tackles and five sacks for the Blue Devils, and in their Birmingham Bowl win over Troy he had a sack, multiple hurries, and four tackles while playing a very noticeable game and gave Virginia Tech fans a glimpse of what 2024 could be like.
