Virginia Tech women get road test against rebuilding program
Like Vanderbilt men, the Georgia women, who finished in next to last place in the SEC this season, are coming off a 12-18 season and rebuilding, which makes the Hokies' visit to Athens an interesting one. The season will be a month old when the two teams tip-off and this will be a true-road test in Duffy’s first season in charge.
Virginia Tech will still be getting used to Duffy’s system, but she does return some experience from Kenny Brooks’ roster with Matilda Ekh, Carys Baker, Rose Micheaux and Carleigh Wenzel returning. Despite Georgia’s 2023-24 season finishing six games under .500, there were a lot of other tougher road match ups that Duffy and the Hokies could have been given in her first year in Blacksburg.
