There were a lot of questions around the country on just how good the ACC will be in football this season. Well, with one game left Monday night when Boston College plays at Florida State, the returns have not been good.

Miami went on the road and rolled over Florida in the Swamp, but Clemson got routed by Georgia and Virginia Tech was upset at Vanderbilt in overtime. Aside from the Hokies, the rest of the schools beat the teams they should have done. This past weekend's results have caused a major shakeup in the latest ACC Power Rankings.

Again, there is still one more game remaining this week when BC plays at FSU on Labor Day night, but those results will be reflected in next week's rankings. Aside from Clemson and Virginia Tech's disappointing losses, Syracuse posted a win along with California, Duke, Wake Forest, and NC State, although it was a struggle for the Wolfpack. Louisville impressed in their blowout and North Carolina had to survive a missed field goal by Minnesota as time expired to win by two points on the road Thursday night.

Looking ahead to next weekend, there are some very interesting games on tap. Duke will play at Northwestern on Friday night and SMU will host BYU, then Saturday offers another big slate. NC State will play Tennessee in the Duke's Mayo Classic at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte in a battle of Top 25 teams. Georgia Tech will travel to Syracuse and Pittsburgh will be at Cincinnati. California will be at Auburn in another ACC/SEC game and another ACC matchup has Wake Forest hosting Virginia.

Clemson will look to rebound at home against App State, as will Virginia Tech against Marshall after both teams posted frustrating opening performances against a pair of SEC schools.
