Syracuse Orange

Look, I actually like our friends in Western New York, but like SMU, there is not a lot that the Orange bring to the ACC. Yes, basketball was likely the big sellback when Syracuse made the transition from the Big East to the ACC. Imagine a selling point of legendary coach Jim Boeheim playing Duke and North Carolina every year. Of course, the conference would sign up for that, but with Boheim and Mike Krzyzewski retired along with Roy Williams at North Carolina, those days are gone.

In football, the Orange have had two winning seasons since 2014 and appear to have finally found their coach in Fran Brown who has had a good offseason building his roster with Ohio State transfer Kyle McCord leading the way. Syracuse is a tough road game because of the Dome, but they have struggled to fill it consistently for football, and in the big picture, they do much for the ACC.

It's time for them to go back to the Big East. Could you imagine Syracuse going up against Rick Pitino and St. John's? How about rivalries with Providence, Marquette, Creighton, and UConn? It feels like when the ACC begins to fall apart for good, Syracuse will be one of the teams left with nowhere to go.
