2024 Week 6 12-team College Football Playoff rankings prediction
By Scott Roche
Ah yes, college football. Expect the unexpected and embrace the chaos.
That was the case again this past weekend when Alabama moved to the top spot after beating Georgia in a thriller last weekend, but their spot at the top only lasted seven days after they were stunned at Vanderbilt. As if that wasn't a big enough chaos for one day in the SEC, Arkansas knocked off Tennessee later Saturday night.
As for the rest of the teams in contention, Miami got the benefit of another replay review late in the game from an ACC crew to rally to beat California. Clemson added to their surge after dropping their opener against Georgia by beating Florida State on the road.
While some teams struggled, others took care of business, while some teams like Georgia, bounced back from a loss to get back into the win column. When it comes to the projected 12-team field, there were some pretty big changes this week in the latest rankings prediction.

Notre Dame returns to the rankings this week and if there is one team in the country that can benefit from the chaos every single weekend, it's the Irish, despite their loss to Northern Illinois. If they keep winning, which they very well could, they are going to end up finding their way back into the field in the end, even if it means their going to be on the road the opening weekend of the CFP.
This upcoming weekend is a college football fan's dream in terms of a match-up's with Ohio State heading out to play at Oregon and Penn State traveling to USC. Another big game is Texas and Oklahoma playing their annual showdown as first-year SEC members.
