As we enter the summer months, it won't be too long before EA Sports College Football 26 will be released, but unlike last season when the previous version was released, this one will pay the programs. That's right, if you play as Virginia Tech, EA Sports will pay schools featured in EA College Football 26 based on how often the teams are used in gameplay, according to Matt Liberman of Cllctmedia.
When the game is released next month, all FBS schools that opted into the game will be compensated by their popularity with gamers. We're not kidding. Check out what Liberman dug up in documents through a FOIA request to reveal EA's payment plan for the schools in the game.
“For each CFB product released by EA SPORTS, we (CLC Learfield) will provide a percentage for each institution based on the games played for that institution as a percentage of the total games played across all institutions. This percentage of games played will become the final allocation percentage for each school that will be applied to the total gross royalties for all institutions received.”
EA Sports recently dropped the trailer for the game, and Virginia Tech and Enter Sandman were featured in the trailer, which was music to Hokies' fans' ears, literally.
There is no doubt that Virginia Tech fans are going to be flocking to the stores to buy the game, if pre-sale orders haven't already been placed. If you choose to play the game, you're doing so to help the Hokies program in the overall big picture.
