The day has finally come for the only college football Transfer Portal to open. There is going to be a ton of talented players entering the portal to find a new home for 2026 and beyond. One program expected to be very active in the portal this season is Virginia Tech and first-year coach James Franklin.
There is a good chance that the former Penn State coach could target some of his former players from State College to bring them to Blacksburg. There are going to be a lot of coveted players this portal cycle, and there are two players who are reportedly visiting Virginia Tech.
2 Virginia Tech Transfer Portal targets reportedly visiting Blacksburg
According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula is going to visit Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, while Stanford will also be in the mix. Given the history here between Pribula and Franklin, you have to like the Hokies' chances to be heavily in the mix here. Pribula went to Penn State before he transferred to Missouri. He had a big season in the SEC, and with Kyron Drones out of eligibility and Garret Rangel and Pop Watson entering the portal, there is a major need for a couple of QBs this portal cycle.
Texas A&M edge Solomon Williams is reportedly taking a visit to Virginia Tech, according to Josh Edwards of CBS Sports. He will also reportedly visit Vanderbilt. Like Pribula, there is a big Virginia Tech connection with Williams. Franklin recently hired Texas A&M defensive line coach Sean Spencer to the same position in Blacksburg, and he was big in Williams' recruiting to College Station.
In 15 games for the Aggies, Williams registered 11 tackles, with 4.5 of those for a loss. Both of these players would be massive additions to the Hokies' roster.
