It has been just 10 days since James Franklin has been the head coach of the Virginia Tech football team, and he is already making huge moves in Blacksburg. He has hit the ground running, to say the least, when it comes to recruiting.
Less than a week after a huge recruiting weekend at Virginia Tech, Franklin picked up a commitment from four-star running back Messiah Mickens as his first big commit at his new job. There were rumors that more big-name players could be committing to the Hokies, and that was the case on Thanksgiving.
Virginia Tech lands former Penn State & Syracuse 3-star offensive lineman
Three-star offensive tackle Roseby Lubintus committed to Virginia Tech and Franklin. He previously committed to Penn State, then flipped to Fran Brown and Syracuse before returning, somewhat, to Penn State. He committed to Franklin again at his new stop after visiting last weekend when the Hokies faced Miami.

The 6-foot-6, 340-pound Lunintus is from New Jersey, and he explained to 247Sports why he is following Franklin to Blacksburg.
“Franklin is one of the main coaches that truly believed in me,'' Lubintus said.
Although he was set to re-commit to Penn State, he never officially did before Franklin was fired, which allowed Lubintus to reopen his recruiting. Franklin never gave up on the talented offensive tackle and now has him coming to Blacksburg.
Virginia Tech will head to Charlottesville this weekend for the annual Commonwealth Cup against Virginia. Still, Franklin will be hard at work at his new job, hosting more recruits with signing day less than a week away. Lubintus might not be the last commit, as several other recruits were on campus last weekend who are expected to make a decision soon, with Virginia Tech very much in the mix. Things are heating up quickly.
