How to Watch Virginia Tech vs. North Carolina A&T Men's Basketball
By Scott Roche
After starting 3-0, the Virginia Tech men’s basketball team has lost six games in a row with some disappointing and frustrating losses. They had a bad home loss to Jacksonville last month and then last Saturday, they dropped a 64-59 ACC opener to Pittsburgh at Cassell Coliseum.
Mike Young’s team has three games over the next nine days before the Christmas Break. It begins with a non-conference match against North Carolina A&T Thursday night in Blacksburg. To say the least, the Hokies need to win this game.

According to the ESPN Matchup Predictor, the Hokies have a 90.4% chance to win this game when this article is being written. In reality, that should not be surprising and this needs to not only be a win, but a convincing one. If not, then things could get more concerning.
No matter who Virginia Tech plays, an ACC opponent or a non-conference opponent, one thing needs to change and that’s taking care of the basketball and knocking down shots. That has been a major issue for Young’s team this season and if one is going well, the other isn’t.
Against a Top 25 Pittsburgh at the time last weekend, the Hokies' defense was on display when they held the Panthers to 64 points, but Virginia Tech’s last field goal came with just over five minutes remaining in the game and that simply can’t happen against anyone. Turnovers and bad shots doomed them down the stretch and they played more than well enough to win the game, but this is a feel-good game for the Tech as they look to break their six-game skid.
