Last season was a quiet NFL Draft Combine and Draft for Virginia Tech football fans following former players. This season is setting up to be different for former Virginia Tech players. Some players passed on going into the Draft last season, instead choosing to return to Blacksburg for another year. In some cases, it was worth it as some players raised their draft stock in 2024.
Before last season, some players were already on scout's radars for the 2025 Draft in Green Bay and after recent performances at the Reese’s Senior Bowl and East/West Shrine games last month, stock is on the rise for more.
A running list of Virginia Tech players invited to the 2025 NFL Combine
This season, the NFL Combine will take place from Feb. 24 through March 3. Beginning on Feb. 27, live coverage will be on the NFL Network, so you can get a chance to tune in and see how the former Hokies are faring. Here is a running list of the players who have accepted an invitation for this season’s combine.
- RB: Bhayshul Tuten
- WR: Jaylin Lane
- WR: Da’Quan Felton
- DL: Aeneas Peebles
- DL: Antwaun Powell-Ryland
- CB: Dorian Strong
Five of the six Virginia Tech players going to the combine participated in the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile last month. Some of them had a good week of practice and impressed in the game. Strong was noted as a player who stuck out in practices on the defensive side of the ball with Peebles. On the offensive side, Lane had his moments in practice and stuck out over some of the bigger-named wide receivers in attendance.
There are 329 players expected at the combine looking to impress to hear their names called in Green Bay. If they don’t get drafted, like some of their former teammates last season, an undrafted free agent deal is an option right after the draft concludes.
