The Virginia Tech football team will play its final home game of the season on Saturday afternoon when the Hokies host Miami at Lane Stadium. Following a 34-14 loss at Florida State on Saturday night, Virginia Tech will miss a bowl for the first time in three years.
Fans are not going to really care about that after they get the news that they have been waiting for on Monday. It was announced that James Franklin was going to be the next head coach in Blacksburg, replacing his former defensive coordinator, Brent Pry. What had been rumored for weeks finally became a reality.
This is shaping up to be a massive weekend with recruits making the trip for the game, and Franklin went to right Monday night, setting things up and reaching out to commits. There are going to be a lot of big names at Lane Stadium, and the stadium should be full for the final home game until 2026.

Virginia Tech vs. Miami: History
This will be the 42nd all-time meeting between the Hokies and Hurricanes. Miami holds a 15-26-0 advantage, and you all remember what happened last year, right? On a Friday night in late September, Virginia Tech trailed, but quarterback Kyron Drones dropped back and threw a ball to the end zone on the final play of the game. It was called a touchdown on the field, but it went under review and was overturned. I don't think this week's game will come down to the final possession, but hey, you never know.
