Early in the second quarter, the Arizona Cardinals took a 21-3 lead over the Tennessee Titans in Glendale after Bam Knight scored on a 1-yard run. After a scoreless third quarter, the Cardinals took a 21-6 lead into the fourth quarter at home. You would have thought it would be game, set, match.
Think again.
Tennessee, which had lost 10 games in a row going into the game, had other ideas at State Farm Stadium. The Titans pulled off a miraculous fourth-quarter rally, scoring 16 points in a unique way over the final 10:26 to escape with their first win of 2025.
Former Virginia Tech kicker Joey Slye boots Tennessee to a stunning win over Arizona
The Titans cut the deficit to 21-12 on a Tony Pollard touchdown run from a yard out, but former Virginia Tech kicker Joey Slye missed the extra point off the goal post. Then the wildest touchdown scored in the NFL this year was scored by the Titans.
Tennessee quarterback Cam Ward threw a pass that was picked off by Cardinals cornerback Dadrion Taylor Demerson. After he picked off the pass and made a football move, he fumbled it backward toward the end zone. It was kicked into the end zone by a teammate before Tennessee wide receiver Tyler Lockett fell on it for a touchdown, bringing the score to 22-19.

After the Titans got a stop on defense, Ward led the Titans down inside the Cardinals' 20-yard line, setting Slye up for a 29-yard field goal as time expired for a 22-21 win. Syle's field goal capped off an 11-play, 71-yard drive that took 1:53.

Slye is in his first season with the Titans after kicking for the New England Patriots last season. His kick got a huge weight off the shoulders of his teammates, which was made possible by a miracle touchdown on the drive before the game-winner.
