Over the last couple of weeks, injuries have been piling up for the Virginia Tech football team. Last weekend at Syracuse, they played without two key players on offense in quarterback Kyron Drones and running back Bhayshul Tuten and they lost cornerback Mansoor Delane during the game.

Tuesday at his weekly press conference ahead of this week's game at Lane Stadium against Clemson, head coach Brent Pry didn't sound too optimistic about all of his players being available to line up against the Tigers. He listed Tuten, Delane, and Drones as questionable for the ACC showdown. Wednesday, the Hokies' third-year head coach sounded like all three players being in the lineup is a real possibility.

David Cunningham of Tech Sideline reported that Drones, Tuten, and Delane were all moving around fine at practice Wednesday afternoon. Following practice, Pry gave an encouraging update following practice when he met with the media.

“I think all three of them have a good chance [to play Saturday vs. Clemson] after yesterday and today,'' said Pry.

Getting those players back would be huge for the Hokies against Clemson, especially Drones and Tuten on offense. Nothing against Collin Schlee, Malachi Thomas, or Jeremiah Coney, but the Virginia Tech offense is different when those two are on the field. All three players who played for Drones and Tuten played very well and well enough to win against the Orange and would have if it wasn't for a meltdown by the Hokies' defense in the second half.

Every team is injured this time of year, but Virginia Tech getting all three players back against Clemson would be a big lift for the Hokies, to say the least. One more win is needed to become bowl-eligible and their first shot is Saturday and being as healthy as possible would go a long way into making that happen.
