You can't tell me that there were not any Virginia Tech fans out there saying, "Here we go again," late in the first quarter against Old Dominion on Saturday afternoon at Lane Stadium. I mean, how could you not?
Given everything that has gone on in the last decade or so, there was a "Here we go again" moment. However, it was a quick nightmare, and it went from "Here we go again" to "It's bout time."

However, right before he crossed the goal line, he lost control of the ball and fumbled it in the end zone. A Monarchs player was able to recover it for a touchback.
Last year and in past seasons, it would have been a mistake that would have compounded into a huge missed opportunity and backfired. For now, not in 2026.
