Week 7 in the ACC had a lot of football teams on a bye. There was a light schedule of games on the slate, but nothing that was going to blow you away. The results were mixed, and when the dust settled, there were some coaches who might find themselves on the hot seat sooner rather than later.

Despite a small number of games, there was some movement in the latest ACC Football Power Rankings. Here is where things stand following Week 7.

Week 7 ACC Football Power Rankings

17. Boston College (1-5, 0-4)

  • Last Week: 17
  • After being blown out two weeks ago at Pittsburgh, the Eagles returned home and were down 34-10 at halftime to Clemson before losing 41-10. There are questions surrounding the quarterback position and how soon until Bill O'Brien will be on the hot seat.

16. Stanford (2-4, 1-2)

  • Last Week: 16
  • The Cardinal lost at SMU on Saturday and now faces a very interesting matchup at home on Saturday night against Florida State.

15. North Carolina (2-3, 0-1)

  • Last Week: 15
  • It was another bye week for the Tar Heels, but there was no shortage of drama, as there were rumors about a buyout of Bill Belichick and all sorts of other goodies. We'll see if he's on the sideline on Friday night at California.

14. Virginia Tech (2-5, 1-2)

  • Last Week: 14
  • The Hokies lost 35-20 at Georgia Tech on Saturday and now enter a much-needed bye week. The good news out of Saturday's game is that they are still playing hard for interim coach Philip Montgomery.

13. Syracuse (3-3, 1-2)

  • Last Week: 13
  • The Orange were on a bye this week and return home to face an upstart Pittsburgh team on Saturday night at the Dome.

12. Florida State (3-3, 0-3)

  • Last Week: 8
  • The Seminoles' Week 1 win over Alabama is a distant memory after losing at home to Pitt on Saturday. Mike Norvell now heads to Stanford this upcoming weekend.

11. North Carolina State (4-3, 1-2)

  • Last Week: 11
  • The Wolfpack headed to South Bend and were blasted by Notre Dame, heading into a bye week. They head to Pittsburgh on Oct. 25 in what won't be an easy game.

10. Clemson (3-3, 2-2)

  • Last Week: 12
  • The Tigers followed up their rout of UNC last weekend with another dominating win at Boston College, where they put up 34 first-half points on their way to a 41-10 rout of the Eagles. They return home to face SMU this upcoming weekend.

9. California (4-2, 1-1)

  • Last Week: 9
  • The Golden Bears host UNC this Friday night after a bye week, then they fly cross-country to play Virginia Tech on Oct. 24.

8. Wake Forest (4-2, 1-2)

  • Last Week: 10
  • After escaping Blacksburg last weekend with a win, the Demon Deacons flew cross-country and rolled over Oregon State, which cost Trent Bray his job.

7. Louisville (4-1, 1-1)

  • Last Week: 5
  • After a bye, the Cardinals head to South Florida on Friday night with a match-up against Miami, looking to erase the memory of their loss to Virginia in their last outing.

6. SMU (4-2, 2-0)

  • Last Week: 6
  • The Mustangs took care of Stanford and now face their first ACC road game on Saturday at Clemson in a rematch of last year's ACC Championship Game.

5. Pittsburgh (4-2, 2-1)

  • Last Week: 7
  • The Panthers rise two spots after a win over FSU. Can they pick up a third straight ACC win on Saturday at Syracuse?

4. Duke (4-2, 3-0)

  • Last Week: 4
  • The Blue Devils enjoyed a bye week and how host Georgia Tech on Saturday afternoon in what will have huge ACC Championship Game implications.

3. Virginia (5-1, 3-0)

  • Last Week: 2
  • The Cavaliers were off this weekend and will host Washington State in a non-conference game this weekend.

2. Georgia Tech (6-0, 3-0)

  • Last Week: 3
  • The Yellow Jackets were impressive on offense in a win over Virginia Tech, which sets them up to head to Durham this weekend for a massive game with Duke.

1. Miami (5-0, 1-0)

  • Last Week: 1
  • The Hurricanes were off and prepared for Louisville this weekend at home. It should be an interesting Friday night in Miami.
