The first ACC Tournament without every team in the league began on Tuesday afternoon at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte with three first-round games. Last season’s champion, North Carolina State, is not part of the field this year after finishing in 16th place and missing it by one spot.
Joining the Wolfpack in missing the trip to Charlotte is Boston College and Miami, leaving the three new teams in the conference this year, Stanford, SMU, and California, as first-time participants. Right now, three teams, Duke, Louisville, and Clemson, are locks for the NCAA Tournament field, but after that, there are a handful of teams squarely on the bubble, and how they fare this week will determine whether or not they will get an NCAA Tournament bid or an NIT bid. Here is a running update of results and the schedule for the ACC Tournament.
