We are almost at the halfway point of the 2024-25 ACC men's basketball schedule. So far, the creme is rising to the top, while there are some teams stuck in the middle and some free-falling down toward the bottom of the conference standings. That's not a place you want to be at the end of the regular season.

This past week saw some surprising results along with some teams avoiding losses that would be considered bad ones comes Selection Sunday in eight weeks. There is still a lot of season left before the ACC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament with some big games and road trips cross country coming up weekly. With that said, it's time for the latest power rankings at the midway point of January.

It was another forgetful week for the Hurricanes which ended with a 117-74 rout at the hands of SMU at home on Saturday. This week they get the trip out West to face Stanford and California.

It was another two-loss week for the Eagles, at Notre Dame and at home against Duke. The seat is getting hotter for Earl Grant with a trip to Virginia this week before visiting North Carolina over the weekend.

The Cavaliers have now lost six in a row after a stunning last-second loss at home to SMU and falling at Louisville, which is playing great basketball right now. Virginia has a pair of winnable home games this week against BC and Notre Dame.
