Another week down in the 2024-25 ACC men's basketball schedule. We have just three more weeks of games remaining before the top 15 teams gather in Charlotte for the ACC Tournament next month. It was an interesting week of action for some teams at the top of the conference and in the middle of the conference.

NCAA Tournament résumés are taking both a hit and a big step forward for some teams, while others are only strengthening their seed for the 68-team field. Duke is the lone Top 16 seed in the field that was released over the weekend.

As we enter the third week of February, it's time for the latest ACC men's basketball power rankings as positioning for the conference tournament picks up.

ACC Men's Basketball Power Rankings: Virginia Tech tumbles

The Hurricanes are playing better basketball lately. They beat Syracuse last week at home then put a scare into Pitt over the weekend. Virginia Tech gets a not-so-easy game in South Florida on Saturday night.

Another week and two more losses for the Eagles. They lost to Notre Dame at home in overtime before losing at NC State on Saturday. They host Virginia Tech on Tuesday night in the teams only meeting this season.

If there was a team that needed a win last week, it was the Wolfpack and they got it against BC. NC State is trying to work its way up the standings to avoid missing the ACC Tournament one year after winning it.

Things continue to be a struggle for the Orange this season after losing at Miami and dropping a close game at home to North Carolina.

The Irish picked up a much-needed win at Boston College but suffered a loss on Sunday night at home to Louisville.

It was a brutal trip East for the Golden Bears who lost at Duke by 21 points, then was beaten at Georgia Tech, 90-88, on a tip-in at the buzzer. They get a bye this week before visiting Stanford on Saturday night.

The Hokies tumbled this week after losing at home to Virginia on Saturday afternoon, 73-70 after a second-half comeback fell short. Two road games at BC and Miami this week will go a long way into potentially determining their fate for the ACC Tournament.

Don't look now, but the Yellow Jackets are turning into a team that nobody is going to want to see in the ACC Tournament. If there is a team that could go a run like NC State last season, it's Georgia Tech.

Virginia is on a three-game winning streak and putting up points, dropping 73 at Virginia Tech on Saturday. They have a quick turnaround Monday night, hosting Duke.

Is there a team that has more ups and downs from week to week than the Seminoles? They pulled a stunning comeback at Wake Forest last week before getting blown out at home by Clemson.

It feels like the Panthers' NCAA Tournament hopes are dwindling, but they avoid a really bad loss to Miami on Saturday.

Like Cal, it was a rough trip East for the Cardinal last week, losing at Georgia Tech by eight, then having Duke drop 106 points on them.

The Tar Heels squeaked out a win at Syracuse on Saturday night to keep any hopes for the NCAA Tournament alive.

The Mustangs dropped a tough one at home to Wake Forest on Saturday, missing a couple of key players. Like UNC, they still have more work to do to get into the NCAA Tournament.

After suffering a devastating loss to Florida State, the Demon Deacons went on the road and picked up a big win at SMU.

The Cardinals keep rolling along and capped the week with a win Sunday night at Notre Dame as they keep the pressure on the two teams in front of them.

After rolling over UNC by 20 points last week, the Tigers closed the week with an impressive road win at Florida State. They are primed for another March run.

After wins over Cal and Stanford, the Blue Devils get Virginia on Monday night in Charlottesville before a non-conference game at Illinois on Saturday night.
