As we enter the final week of January, one thing is clear, there is nothing like conference basketball in the middle of the season. This past week saw some teams avoid a demoralizing loss, while some teams continued to prove that they are a worthy contender to the top team in the ACC, Duke.

If there is one thing that we are beginning to learn, it's that the conference is going to struggle to get a lot of teams in the NCAA Tournament. Some teams who we thought were going to be good are not and then some teams we thought we not going to be good are much better than we originally thought. Then there are the teams that are stuck in the middle who are trying to strong enough wins together to get into the March Madness field.

With another week. down in the 2024-25 ACC men's basketball season, here are the latest power rankings as we close in on the halfway point of the conference schedule.

ACC Men's Basketball Power Rankings

The Hurricanes dropped both games on the West Coast last week, but on Saturday, aside from their last-second loss at Virginia Tech earlier this month, Miami took California to overtime before falling. Sooner or later they will break through into the win column in ACC play.

The Eagles were seconds, literally seconds away from pulling off a major upset on Saturday at North Carolina, but in typical BC fashion, they turned the ball over twice on an inbounds play, which led to the Tar Heels tying the game and winning in overtime.

After rolling over BC, Virginia had a chance to finally make their move up the rankings, but lost at home to Notre Dame. We are six days away from the first of two Commonwealth Clashes with Virginia Tech with the first game in Charlottesville on Feb. 1.
