We are full steam ahead with ACC play for men's basketball as we enter the second week of January and as there is always with conference play, there are some surprising results along with disappointing ones.

To no one's surprise, Duke continues to separate themselves from the rest of the conference and that was evident last week with a blowout win over Pittsburgh and a narrow escape of Notre Dame thanks to a career afternoon from freshman star Cooper Flagg. As far as the rest of the conference goes, there were some surprising results that had an impact the last seven days with the standings and even NCAA Tournament resumes.

As we look ahead to another week of long road trips and juicy matchups, it's time for the latest installment of ACC men's basketball power rankings.

Things continue to be a struggle in South Florida with the Hurricanes after losses to Florida State and Wake Forest.

Losses at Georgia Tech and in Chestnut Hill against Syracuse continued the Eagles' struggles. After a trip to South Bend this week, they welcome Duke next weekend. It doesn't get any easier for BC.

The Cavaliers' first trip out West to Stanford and Cal was not something they would want to remember. They lost both games by double-digits and have won just one of their first five conference games, something they are not used to in Charlottesville.
