The college football season came to an end on Monday when Indiana slipped past Miami, 27-21, to win the College Football Playoff. It was a great run by the Hurricanes who came up six points short.
Now that a champion has been crowned, all eyes turn toward the offseason with the 2026 season eight months away. With the season in the books, it's time for the final ACC Football Power Rankings for 2025.
Final 2025 ACC Football Power Rankings
17. Syracuse (3-9)
Last Week: 17
It was a rough Year 2 for Fran Brown in New York.
16. Boston College (2-10)
Last Week: 16
The only thing that kept the Eagles out of the last spot was the head-to-head win to close out the season against the Orange.
15. Virginia Tech (3-9)
Last Week: 15
The Hokies have turned the page to the James Franklin-era in Blacksburg, and he has hit it big in the portal so far. Nowhere to go but up.
14. North Carolina (4-8)
Last Week: 13
Year 1 of Bill Belichick at UNC was a struggle, but will he be there for Year 2 with some of the NFL openings that remain?
13. Florida State (5-7)
Last Week: 14
This is a big offseason for the Seminoles and coach Mike Norvell. He has already landed Auburn transfer QB Ashton Daniels to replace Thomas Castellanos.
12. Stanford (4-8)
Last Week: 12
The Cardinal need to turn things around quickly in 2026 under new head coach Tavita Pritchard.
11. California (7-6)
Last Week: 8
The Golden Bears closed out a season that had a bunch of ups and downs with a loss to Hawai'i on Christmas Eve in the Hawai'i Bowl, 35-31.
10. Clemson (7-6)
Last Week: 7
The Tigers were another team that went through many ups and downs in 2025, which ended with a loss to a Penn State team in the Pinstripe Bowl that is going to transition from Franklin to Iowa State coach Matt Campbell.
9. Pittsburgh (8-5)
Last Week: 5
After a very good regular season, the Panthers ended it on a sour note with a six-point loss to East Carolina in the Military Bowl.
8. Georgia Tech (9-4)
Last Week: 6
Brent Key has maybe the biggest frustration, falling short of the ACC Championship Game in the final month of the season, and then losing to BYU in the Pop-Tarts Bowl. They ended the season on a three-game losing streak.
7. North Carolina State (8-5)
Last Week: 10
Props to NC State for closing out the season with three straight wins, including a 31-7 rout of Memphis in the Gasparilla Bowl in December.
6. Louisville (9-4)
Last Week: 10
The Cardinals struggled in the Boca Raton Bowl against Toledo, but as they had done so many times during the season, they found a way to get it done.
5. Wake Forest (9-4)
Last Week: 9
What a first season in Winston-Salem for Jake Dickert with the Demon Deacons. They finished it off with a win over Mississippi State in the Duke' Mayo Bowl, 43-29.
4. SMU (9-4)
Last Week: 4
The Mustangs will be thinking "What if" this offseason after blowing a spot in the ACC Championship Game with a loss at Cal to close out the regular season. They sent a statement with a win over Arizona in the Holiday Bowl.
3. Virginia (11-3)
Last Week: 2
Another school, thinking to themselves "What if" in the ACC Championship Game against Duke, falling in overtime. They were the better team, but after beating Virginia Tech, which is very rare, they couldn't overcome the hangover from that win a week later in Charlotte. Good teams win that game.
2. Duke (9-5)
Last Week: 3
The Blue Devils are the ACC champs for 2025. Who saw that coming? They took advantage of the Virginia hangover from beating Virginia Tech to win the ACC Championship Game. They closed out the season with a nice Sun Bowl win over Arizona State on New Year's Eve.
1. Miami (13-3)
Last Week: 1
It's a shame that the Hurricanes were not in the ACC Championship Game, but they took advantage of their chance in the CFP with a magical run to the final. It was a great month for Miami and the ACC.
