Incredibly, we are down to one week remaining in the 2025 college football regular season. When it comes to the ACC, nothing is settled as far as which teams will be in Charlotte in two weeks for the ACC Championship Game. After a crazy weekend, SMU and Virginia are in the driver's seats, but a lot can change on rivalry weekend.
With that said, let's fire up the latest ACC Football Power Rankings after Week 13.
Week 13 ACC Football Power Rankings
Bill O'Brien's second season in Chestnut Hill ends at Syracuse on Saturday after a bye this weekend. The Eagles continue to hit rock bottom each week, and despite almost beating Georgia Tech last weekend, they just find more ways to lose. It'll be interesting to see what happens with O'Brien after this season.
After a Year 1 in New York for Fran Brown that saw the Orange go 10-3 and everything go right, it's been a humbling Year 2 for Brown. Notre Dame dropped 70 on them on Saturday, and Syracuse barely put up a fight. BC at Syracuse on Thanksgiving Weekend is the battle to finish out of the basement in these rankings. Yes, a Boston College win would move the Eagles ahead of the Orange.
The Hokies lost by 17 points at home to Miami, but the talk all last week was James Franklin agreeing to become the next head coach in Blacksburg, replacing his former defensive coordinator, Brent Pry. He hit the ground running with a big recruiting weekend for the game against the Hurricanes, and we'll see how many commit. Virginia Tech will be a heavy underdog at Virginia next weekend.
One week after rolling over the Hokies, the Seminoles went to Raleigh against an undermanned NC State team and lost, 21-11, after special teams errors. Now with questions surrounding Mike Norvell's future, all FSU has to do next Saturday is win at Florida to become bowl-eligible. After the way the Gators looked on Saturday night, you have to think the Seminoles have a chance.
Woof. Bill Belichick was beaten on a special teams fake punt at home by Manny Diaz and Duke. The 32-25 loss dropped the Tar Heels to 4-7, and they will miss a bowl in Year 1 of the Belichick era in Chapel Hill. Will there be a Year 2?
The Cardinal, also looking for a new head coach, went out and beat Cal at home for their third conference win of the season. They host Notre Dame one week after they dropped 70 on Syracuse, and need to make another statement in a victory.
The Wolpack became bowl-eligible after taking down FSU at home. Dave Doeren's seat still is warm, and a loss to North Carolina at home next week could create more heat. Regardless, NC State is going bowling for another season.
Talk about a season spiraling out of control. The win over Miami earlier this year is a distant memory, and now, fans are not happy with Jeff Brohm after home losses to California and Clemson. Without Miller Moss, they were spanked at SMU on Saturday. Kentucky awaits this upcoming weekend.
Getting beaten at Stanford was not on a lot of bingo cards for the Golden Bears this weekend. Now they host SMU next weekend and are looking to ruin their ACC Championship Game plans. At least their bowl-eligible, but a stumble down the stretch after winning at Louisville might make Justin Wilcox's seat hotter than some think.
The Blue Devils are another team that became bowl-eligible with a win this weekend, at UNC. It was a gutsy call by Diaz for the fake field goal and it was perfectly executed by his team. They get an up-start Wake Forest team to close out the regular season before a bowl game.
Dabo Swinney and the Tigers are bowl-eligible after beating Furman at home. They head to Columbia this upcoming weekend to play South Carolina, which is 4-7 and playing out the string under Shane Beamer. It would be a nice cap to the regular-season beating the Gamecocks.
Who had the Demon Deacons bowl-eligible, never mind eight wins in Jake Dickert's first season in Winston-Salem? What a first season the former Washington State coach has had, Wake Forest is headed to a pretty good bowl, win or lose against Duke.
I'm not sure how to take this loss. The Yellow Jackets were at home against Pitt, and all they needed was to win and punch their ticket to Charlotte. Instead, they dug themselves a 28-0 hole and never could get out of it. A loss to Georgia would be a real gut-punch to close out the season.
After Pat Narduzzi's weird comments leading into the Notre Dame game, give him credit for rebounding his team and going to Atlanta and upsetting Georgia Tech. Now, a home game against Miami can help them clinch a piece of the regular-season ACC Championship. A trip to Charlotte, however, is not guaranteed.
Virginia was a big winner over the weekend without playing. They have Georgia Tech lose, and now the only thing standing in their way of a trip to the ACC Championship Game is a home game under the lights against one of the worst Virginia Tech teams in a long time in the Commonwealth Cup. What could possibly go wrong?
Miami beat Virginia Tech, 34-17, on the road. Now they must win at Pitt to keep their faint College Football Playoff hopes alive. Again, if they beat Pitt but miss the CFP, they have nobody to blame but themselves after losing at home to Louisville and at SMU on some self-inflicted mistakes. It's not the committee's fault.
Is there a hotter team in the ACC than the Mustangs? They have won this month over Miami at home, a blowout win at Boston College, and a blowout win at home over Louisville. A win at Cal and they are bound for Charlotte again, and the one team nobody there wants to see.
