Three Virginia Tech defensive linemen enter the transfer portal
Virginia Tech's defensive line will have a new look in 2025. Duke transfer Aeneas Peebles, Josh Fuga, and Wilfried Pene used up all of their eligibility and now, three younger players have announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal.
Tuesday, Khurtiss Perry, who transferred to Virginia Tech last spring after entering the portal at Alabama will reportedly enter the portal according to Pete Nakos of On3. This move was a surprise, but last month, Associate Head Coach/Defensive Line Coach J.C. Price didn't want to talk about Perry when asked about him.
Malachi Madison and Ishmael Findlayter also announced that they are going to enter the portal to find a new home for next season. Madison, who redshirted in 2022, played in one game this season for the Hokies on Oct. 5 in their 31-7 victory over Stanford in California. He had one tackle against the Cardinal and has three years of eligibility remaining.
Also on Tuesday, aside from Perry, Findlayer, from Toronto, Canada, also announced via his X account that he as entering the portal. The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Findlayer played in two games back in 2023 and registered a pair of tackles and half a sack. He'll have three years remaining after redshirting in 2022.
This is just the beginning for Virginia Tech as there will likely be more players over the coming days and weeks once the portal officially opens on Dec. 9.
