Virginia Tech games to watch in 2023-24

There are some very interesting games on the Hokies schedule this season and here are some to keep an eye on.

Friday, Nov. 10: vs. South Carolina, 9:30 p.m. (Spectrum Center, Charlotte, North Carolina)

After hosting Coppin State, the Hokies head to play South Carolina in a good early-season test. The Gamecocks of the SEC are expected to finish at the bottom of the standings, which makes this game an almost must-win for Young and his team.

Saturday, Dec. 16: vs. Vermont, 4 p.m.

There are some very interesting non-conference games on Virginia Tech’s schedule, but the one with the most intrigue is when they host Vermont. The Catamounts are nearly an NCAA Tournament team every season out of the America East Conference. They have a history of pulling off postseason shockers and believe it or not, this game in the win column could help the Hokies come selection Sunday.

Tuesday, Jan. 23: vs. Boston College, 9 p.m.

Yes, Boston College should be a game to watch this season. Why? Last season, the Eagles dealt the Hokies two losses that played a part in their 9-11 conference record and kept them from getting to 20 wins. The Eagles are going to be improved this season, but if Virginia Tech wants to collect wins to get to 20 and finish in the top six or seven of the ACC, this is a game that they have to win. They can’t have a repeat performance from last season against BC.

The 2023-24 Virginia Tech basketball season is here and the Hokies have a chance to erase the bad memories of last season.
