Virginia Tech Women’s Basketball: 3 predictions & games to watch

Three Virginia Tech games to watch in 2023-24
The 2023-24 schedule is loaded and that’s the way that Brooks likes it. He mentioned earlier this season that it was tough to find games, but there are three very good ones in the first month of the season.
Thursday, Nov. 9: vs. Iowa, 8 p.m. (Spectrum Center, Charlotte, North Carolina)
Iowa also was in the Final Four last March and advanced to the Championship game before losing to LSU. They return fan-favorite Caitlin Clarke, who is one of the best shooters in the country. The Hawkeyes begin the season ranked No. 3 and what a battle this should be in the second game of the season for both teams.
Friday, Nov. 24: vs. Kansas, 5 p.m. (Cayman Islands)
The night after Thanksgiving, the Hokies will be in action against a very underrated Jayhawks team in the inaugural Cayman Islands Classic. Kansas won the women’s NIT last spring and is expected to be an NCAA Tournament team this season. Virginia Tech will also play Tulane, on Nov. 25 at 11 a.m. on the Island.
Thursday, Nov. 30: at LSU, 9 p.m.
The first SEC/ACC Challenge matchup for both schools should be a classic. In a rematch of last season’s semifinal at the Final Four, the Hokies will be looking to get even with the defending National Championship Tigers. Angel Reese returns for legendary coach Kim Mulkey. This has the makings of a memorable night in Baton Rouge.
The season starts against High Point for Brooks and his team and they hope it ends differently this spring than it did last March. It’s certainly going to be a ride in 2023-24 for the Hokies.
